All Wills now added to National Will Register

We have recently arranged with the Institute of Professional Will Writers an agreement to register all Wills put in place using Sue Jenden Associates Ltd on the National Will Register. This service is free of charge to our clients. Having your Will registered on the National Will Register makes it easier for your executors or loved ones to trace your Will if it has gone missing after your death.

Tips from the experts

Secure your Will

The relief you feel when you finally get around to putting a Will in place can often mean that you forget the next, very important step – where and how it is stored. Research has shown that 67% of adults do not know where to find their parents Will for example. Do you know where your Will is, or your partners?

In the worst case scenario, if a Will cannot be found the estate will be administered as if there were no Will in place, meaning the wishes of the deceased are not honoured.

National Will RegisterThere are several places to keep your Will, the essential point is that the original must be kept safe as copies are not legally binding. You may keep it yourself in the place where you keep your other important documents. We advise against this being at home unless it is in a fireproof safe. Wills held at home can also be maliciously or accidentally destroyed.

We offer our clients secure Will storage through National Will Safe. Depositing your documents with National Will Safe guarantees that it will be held safely for all times. All documents are scanned and fully insured and ID cards, containing a unique reference number for your Will, are provided for you to give to your executors. In addition your Will is registered free of charge on the National Wills Register.
